In the Third book of the series, Sam has escaped from Brazil, and continues killing in the UK. Jack’s ally, and sometimes, foe, Brenda, has a fascination with names; particularly her own. It’s a race

between she and Jack, as to who can have the most new names in a year.

Recovering from her car crash, she has been reinstated at Mi5, but forbidden to engage in any dangerous activities; as if that’s going to stop her. Jack’s luck changes when he meets Betty, real name Beatrice. It’s now on for young and old. The Jack, of the past few years is back out there removing enemies of the state, and anyone else, if you pay him enough. Loyalties become fractured, and long-time friends and allies, become deadly foes.

To survive these threats, Jack must discard any ideas that he believed inthe past, may still hold some level of credence.
